AntSeed, the open market for AI inference, has announced the launch of its peer-to-peer (P2P) marketplace for AI models. Designed as a P2P alternative to OpenRouter, it enables AI consumers and providers to interact directly with no middleman.
AntSeed’s marketplace, which has just gone live, marks a radical departure to incumbent models for provisioning access to AI inference. OpenRouter and its ilk utilize traditional centralized platforms, which entail payout delays for model providers and mandate permissioned access. AntSeed’s alternative involves no gatekeepers, enabling anyone to list a proprietary model and receive instant payment.
Models Minus the Middleman
AntSeed’s P2P marketplace is about more than simply removing intermediaries for the sake of it; it’s about expediting payments and expanding the scope of models that consumers can tap into. From the perspective of buyers, the service looks and feels like that of a conventional model marketplace, but beneath the hood, all interactions with sellers are handled directly.
USDC is used for payments, with settlement occurring instantly into the provider’s wallet whenever a request is delivered. Buyers, meanwhile, don’t have to go through an approval process, allowing them to list their latest models instantly and start reaping the rewards.
As Shahaf Antwarg, Co-Founder of AntSeed, explains, “OpenRouter and similar aggregators helped define the market for unified AI access, but that market does not need to remain centralized. AntSeed gives AI consumers and providers a direct, peer-to-peer alternative where access, reputation, and payments are coordinated by the network rather than a single platform.”
Discovery as a Service
One of the primary challenges with P2P networks, be it AntSeed or BitTorrent, is developing a system for efficient peer discovery. It needs to be easy and almost instantaneous to find other peers to connect to in order to join the network. Here, the former has drawn inspiration from the latter, using the same P2P protocol as BitTorrent to power AntSeed.
With no central server orchestrating things, AntSeed is theoretically unstoppable and uncensorable. And with all records recorded onchain, there’s no disputing who’s been paid – or whose reputation is on the rise. Yep, even provider rep is stored onchain and can be inspected by anyone.
When it comes to usability, meanwhile, AntSeed has been optimized for non-technical users, who can connect through the AntStation desktop client. More experienced users, meanwhile, can connect tools such as Claude Code or Cursor via API in the same manner as they would integrate OpenAI or Anthropic.
Twenty providers are already live on the newly launched AntPool P2P marketplace, including GPT and Claude Opus, as well as open-source models such as Kimi and GLM. There’s also a Venice inference pool that can be discovered at diem.antseed.com.
Designed to power the next wave of autonomous agents, AntSeed has been created for AI as much as for humans. USDC has become the default currency for agentic payments, and is the ubiquitous digital asset here, while the lack of a centralized authority means that anyone can play.
